At the heart of Higher Ground Stables are two identical CBS block barns, each designed with safety, durability, and comfort as guiding principles. The original barn, built in the late 1970s, has been carefully updated over the years to meet modern safety standards while preserving the functional layout that made it so effective. In November 2024, a second barn was constructed as a mirror image of the first — bringing its proven design into a modern build.
Ryan Fuchs of Premier Development Group handled every detail of the project from start to finish, guiding the process with his extensive knowledge in building equestrian properties and an ease that made each step seamless. He recommended the architectural drawings, brought our vision to life, and introduced insightful upgrades that elevated both safety and functionality for our horses. With his impeccable attention to detail and emphasis on structural integrity, the barns were engineered to withstand the test of time as well as Florida’s climate — from harsh summers to hurricane conditions.
At his recommendation, the entire electrical system was entrusted to Pat Myers Electric, a company with more than 20 years of experience delivering safe, reliable systems on projects of every scale. Their proven expertise ensured the barns were outfitted with a modern electrical infrastructure designed for efficiency, durability, and above all, safety.
Each barn offers 12 oversized 12×12 stalls, for a total of 24 on the property, all purpose-built for the comfort and security of show jumping horses. Stall and barn features include:
Saratoga Stalls doors — Custom fabricated to our specifications, these doors serve as both a functional necessity and an architectural statement. Each features an adjustable window, giving horses the option to look out or remain enclosed for privacy. A spring-loaded pull-down locking mechanism adds an extra layer of safety, designed specifically to prevent horses from tampering with or accidentally opening their doors. The result is a seamless blend of beauty, strength, and practicality.
Wall-to-wall Stall Savers — A softer and more forgiving surface than conventional mats, with a unique drainage design that promotes both cleanliness and comfort.
Automatic waterers — Reliable, stall-integrated waterers provide horses with consistent access to fresh water at all times.
Overhead LED lighting — Bright, energy-efficient fixtures illuminate the barns, enhancing visibility and safety for both horses and handlers.
Fans & power supply — Each stall is equipped with its own fan and dedicated outlet for improved airflow and climate control.
